‘Cranston’ House
Canterbury
Currently Under Construction
‘Cranston’ c1900, a splendid example of transitional Edwardian architecture, stands at the front and centre of this complex renovation and additions project.
With careful consideration of the dwellings established history, the existing heritage red brick house is being restored, updated to modern efficiency standards and connected to a new three level extension to the rear of the sloping site. A grand staircase hall with double height glazing and oval curved stair allows vertical transitions between the basement, existing and proposed ground floors and first floor.
A significant landscaped green roof and terrace provide an immediate connection to the external at ground level, all above a sunken program of leisure areas at basement level.
