Recently Completed, this new residence in Brighton captures the bright intent for a renewed beachside lifestyle.
A rather public corner allotment and inundation/flood overlay brought a requirement for both permeability and privacy through the boundary fencing and facade. These factors aligned in a response centred on creative screening and selective views both in and out.
The distinctive brick screening utilized Lohas Australia’s Flexbrick system to a first floor courtyard and ground floor workshop. Large format sliding windows and grey metal shrouds slice and splice the facades of white brick and render that together lean on a familiar bayside modernist aesthetic of breeze blocks, open plan living and entertaining.
In time the Screen House material palette will fall back behind the lush green landscape design, something that we will be returning to capture again and again with new relationships forged.
